- Purpose:
- The EGR Cooler is designed to reduce exhaust gas temperature before the gases re-enter the intake, lowering combustion peak temperatures and NOx formation.
- Flow:
- Hot exhaust gases exit engine through the exhaust manifold.
- The hot gases pass through the EGR Cooler core (heat exchanger).
- The coolant displaces the heat from the exhaust gases
- Cooled exhaust gas then gets mixed with incoming air and pushed back into the intake manifold.

- The EGR106976R EGR Cooler is typically found on the right(passenger) side of the engine connected to the exhaust manifold.
- Technical Note:
- There are 3 versions on the housing of the EGR106976 EGR Cooler:
- EGR106976R1 - Original Borg Warner version
- Has hex plug in rear center of cooler housing.
- Coolant pipe mounting hole is at 9 o'clock position.
- If updated coolant pipe 7080387C92 is used either R1 or R2 cooler can be used.
- EGR106976R2 - Original Borg Warner version
- Has hex plug in rear center of cooler housing.
- Coolant pipe mounting hole is at 6 o'clock position.
- If updated coolant pipe 7080387C92 is used either R1 or R2 cooler can be used.
- EGR106976R3 - Newer Yinlun version
- Has open threaded hole in rear center of cooler housing.
- Hole does not require a plug and should remain open.
- Coolant pipe mounting hole is at 9 o'clock position.
- if mounting hole for coolant pipe is different than updated pipe 7080387C92 is needed.

- To receive core credit, you will need to return:

- All cores should be in the original boxes
- All cores must be matching units - identical part for part, no substitutions.
- All cores must be intact - no missing parts, disassembled, or damaged units accepted.
- AN RMA number is needed for all core returns, obtained through Bostech Customer Service.
- Please package all cores securely and tape outer box to avoid lost or damaged cores.

CORE:
A core charge has been applied to this product. There are 2 options you can take:
Option 1: We can hold your order until the core (old unit) has been shipped to our facility, or
Option 2: We apply a core charge to the invoice and ship the product immediately.
If the core charge has been applied to your invoice, we will credit the core amount once we have received a valid undamaged core back from you. The core credit process generally takes 2 days once it arrives at our facility. Credit card processing time may delay 1-2 days. An RMA (return merchandise authorization) number is required for returns and can be obtained by contacting our Customer Service Team.
