• How it Works:
  • Purpose:
    • The EGR Cooler is designed to reduce exhaust gas temperature before the gases re-enter the intake, lowering combustion peak temperatures and NOx formation.
  • Flow:
    • Hot exhaust gases exit engine through the exhaust manifold.
    • The hot gases pass through the EGR Cooler core (heat exchanger) which consist of stainless-steel tubing surrounded by engine coolant.
    • The coolant displaces the heat from the exhaust gases
    • Cooled exhaust gas then gets mixed with incoming air and pushed back into the intake manifold.
• Installation Note:
  
  • Always allow the engine to cool completely, failure to do so will subject installer to serious injuries.
• Location:
  • The EGR101507N-K1 EGR Cooler is typically found on the right(passenger) side of the engine connected to the exhaust manifold pipe.
• Restrictions:
  • The EGR101507N-K1 EGR Cooler is CARB certified.
• Technical Note:
  • Cooler has stainless-steel tubing heat exchanger core.
